We’re doing a very special Engine Room this month, and it’ll be THIS SATURDAY (2nd Sat of the month). We’re throwing a big farewell party for Ryan and Lauryn Gould as they leave for Ireland for a year to get their MA in Community Music – enhancing community life through music amongst other communally beneficial concepts. To help illustrate a little of what that all means, the Goulds are setting up a special Engine Room implementing musicians, dancers, and enthusiasts into the performance. We’re eager to see what they have brewing! You won’t want to miss this! Don’t forget: Engine Room is always BYOB! No credit cards or checks. CASH ONLY PLEASE!
We have a special treat for y’all this month! This year is the 100th Anniversary of Frankie Manning (The ambassador of swing dancing). In honor of this, the Frankie Manning Foundation has setup this Memorial Day weekend as the World Lindy Hop Weekend (as well as an epic event in New York City where 2000+ dancers will gather together and celebrate dancing). We are working together with some other organizations to help bring World Lindy Hop Weekend to Austin. So to make it special, we have Tuba Skinny from New Orleans playing for us. Come join us on May 24, 2014 to check them out. And if you want to learn more about World Lindy Hop Weekend in Austin check out their site!
Hey everyone! Thanks so much for coming out in May during the World Lindy Hop Weekend. We are having our monthly Engine Room event this Friday! This month’s band is Snorky’s Rhythm Kings. They are a great band, and they also know how to dance too! Come out and check it out!
Come back out and join us on April 19, 2014 for Engine Room! We took a break in March because of SXSW and Lindyfest, but we are back! Jonathan Doyle Quintet will rock your socks off. So come out to dance or just relax and listen to some awesome jazz music! See you soon!
